This journal is specifically about my health.
I'm a classic yo-yo dieter, mainly because I've always looked at what I'm doing as a diet. It's NOT a diet, it's a change in lifestyle and has taken me over 15 years of yo-yoing to fully understand it. I recently stopped attending Weight Watchers. It has helped me alot over the years, but between work and the cost of going each week I've had to stop. Currently I'm trying to tackle it at home.
I was diagnosed a Type 2 diabetic in 2003 after moving back home. Looking back, I've had it since around 2000 .. isn't heinsight a wonderful thing. Although this is weight related with me, it also runs in the family and firmly believe that I would have it anyway irrelevant of how much I weigh. Losing weight will help me control it BUT WILL NOT CURE IT (just incase anyone thought otherwise). I'm on meds for it, but it's likely that eventually the insulin will have to kick in. Hopefully I can prolong this for as long as possible, but only if a look after myself.
I am always happy to welcome people to this journal, and it will hopefully give you an insight to my own relationship with the dreaded thing called food. I don't expect people to fully undertsand where I'm coming from, but hope that people can either learn from my experiences or maybe even relate to what's going on. This journal is also a Friends Only journal, so please comment if you add me.
